Much has changed since 2007, a time we called B.C.C., before Candy Crush. The minute the first iPhone hit the market, the world changed. I was lucky enough to receive one of the first 8 released by AT&T in my area, and I knew this was going to disrupt everything. The power of access to the knowledge of the world now sat comfortably in my back pocket. ​At the time, one could only imagine the capabilities of such a device. 

These portable digital devices have created entirely new industries, countless new jobs, alternative pastimes, educational opportunities, and have affected the lives of billions of children and parents. For the first time in history, our kids had a private means to communicate with the world, and they could completely hide it from their parents. Think a curious teenager in a bar with countless strangers and an unlimited drink package -- only scarier. Here's what to look for to keep your children out of trouble.

Back in the day, it was easy to keep an eye on your kids. The furthest they might get from your supervision would likely be around the block or at school. In my small neighborhood, there were other equally as astute adults keeping an eye on your kids and keeping them away from trouble.
